Her conception took place on the 29th of March, 1985 in Roswell near New Mexico. Gerina Michelle Mendoza is her birth name. Gerina Stevenson, the child of Mexican parentage Rita Stevenson and Alan Stevenson. Stevenson is American and comes from a Mexican-American background. Gerina has always been a sports enthusiast. Gerina took up golf when she was just age 15. Gerina went to Goddard High School for her secondary education. The school won the New Mexico State Golf Tournament in her high school years. Also, she played volleyball at the national level. She was enrolled at the University of Texas, Texas in the academic year. While in her senior years she was a winner of every tournament which she participated in. While in her undergrad years, she was awarded Conference USA's individual player of year as well as UTEP Female Athletic of Year.
